This summer, Final Stand Games is deploying to the biggest tabletop gaming convention on the planet. We’re bringing Democracy Drop Troopers to GenCon 2026 in Indianapolis. This time, we’re not just running demos; we’re running full-blown Combat Operations. Get the intel on the combat maneuvers we have planned.

Across three days, players can drop in for a quick Learn to Play session in the morning, or strap in for a full mission in the afternoon. Whether you’re a fresh recruit or a seasoned Democracy Officer, we would love to make room at the table for you and your crew.

Democracy Drop Troopers at GenCon 2026

We’re running two types of events throughout the weekend: fast Learn to Play demos every morning and full Combat Operations each afternoon. The morning sessions are perfect if you’ve never picked up the game before — our Democracy Officers walk you through the core rules, get you rolling dice, and have you liberating worlds in under an hour. The afternoon Operations are for players ready to sink their teeth into a complete mission with a full squad, proper objectives, and the kind of chaos only managed democracy can deliver.

Morning Learn to Play Events – 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Daily

Are you ready to “dive” into the “hell” and chaos of the war for managed democracy? Drop in any morning for a Democracy Drop Troopers Learn to Play demo. Sessions kick off every hour on the hour. No experience needed, all materials provided, and a free gift awaits every recruit.

Whether you’re a veteran of video games or new to the universe, these sessions will teach you the basics of movement, combat, stratagems, and heroic teamwork all in under an hour.

You can catch our Learn to Play demos every morning on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We start a fresh session at the top of every hour.

What You’ll Learn

Our Learn to Play event gives new recruits a chance to step into the world of Democracy Drop Troopers and experience how the game works. Our Democracy Officers will guide new players through the core rules and flow of play to jump in and start rolling dice.

All materials are provided; just bring your patriotic energy to the table. Depending on the day’s events, your squad will be liberating a bug or bot world from tyranny.

What To Expect

Each session runs about an hour with pre‑built squads and a guided walkthrough. You’ll learn the basics, roll some dice, and get a feel for the game’s pace without needing any prior experience.

Afternoon Combat Operations — 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Daily

Each afternoon, we’re running two full-length Operations side by side. Each table will feature a distinct mission with its own objectives, narrative, and tactical challenges. Sessions run 4 hours, support 1–5 players, and are open to all experience levels. Rules will be taught. No materials required. Just show up ready to fight for liberty.

OPERATION RIGHTEOUS DETONATION

Retrieve the launch codes. Reclaim the silo. Deliver a decisive strike for managed democracy.

High Command has authorized an ICBM strike against hostile forces entrenched beyond our operational borders, but the launch site has been seized. The structure is intact, the systems are offline, and the enemy is dug in. Your squad secures the complex, restores the firing systems, and ensures the payload reaches its target. Remember, immediate action is required before this sector loses a decisive strike capability it can’t afford to lose.

All of our events are in the official Gen Con event catalogue, and you can register for games directly through gencon.com. You’ll need a Gen Con badge to purchase event tickets. Once you have your badge, just search for Final Stand Games or Democracy Drop Troopers in the event finder and grab your spot.

Step-by-step:

1. Get a badge at gencon.com
2. Log in to your Gen Con account and head to the Event Finder.
3. Search for “Democracy Drop Troopers” or “Final Stand Games” to find all of our sessions.
4. Purchase your event ticket.
   • Learn to Play sessions are free with your badge. (EDIT 5/3/26: GenCon changed out events to $2; we’ve submitted an appeal)
   • Afternoon Combat Operations are $4.00 per ticket.
5. Show up with your badge at the table.

What about Walk-ups? Do I have to pre-reg?

Walk-ups are always welcome; however, there is no guarantee. Registering in advance guarantees your spot. It is almost guaranteed that we will sell out of pre-reg slots. Walk-ups are allowed with Generic tickets ($2 each) to attempt entry into any open session, but they are only accepted if someone doesn’t show up for the pre-registered event.
