Managed Democracy has left the building… or, well, the convention center. Our after-action report from Gen Con 2026 is now live on YouTube. The video is full of photos of our tactical briefings, live-fire demos, and a few things going gloriously sideways on the tabletop.
If you couldn’t make it to Indianapolis this year, here’s the rundown of what Final Stand Games got up to on the show floor.
What happened at the Con
Over the course of the con, we ran a full slate of Democracy Drop Troopers operations:
- Learn to Play: New recruits got a tactical briefing and hands-on battlefield instruction straight from our Democracy Officers. They immediately jumped into a live-fire demo of our tabletop adaptation of a hit co-op video game. Every single person who played walked away with a free unpainted 28mm Drop Trooper miniature.
- Operation Righteous Detonation: Squads dove into hostile bug-held territory to retake a captured ICBM silo. Their mission was to restore the firing systems, and deliver a decisive strike in defense of managed democracy.
- Operation Soaring Victory: Elite divers dropped into contested territory to plant the Flags of Super Earth, break enemy lines, and remind the bots exactly whose planet this is!
About the game
Democracy Drop Troopers is a tabletop miniatures game inspired by Helldivers 2 from Arrowhead Game Studios. To be clear: it’s not yet officially licensed. But it is fully playable and currently open for playtesting while we pursue official licensing, and events like Gen Con are exactly how we stress-test the rules against real players and real chaos.
